Viruses are vicious and tricky. They have transitioned from a piece of code that runs when executed to full fledge programs that run on their own. Some are so dangerous that they disable most of the popular virus scans without you knowing it. If you think you have a virus, more than likely you are correct. It is always best to call us early on because viruses do open backdoors for other viruses. We have run across machines that won't even let us get into the machine because the viruses where battling each other for system resources. Depending on how entrenched the virus is we may not be able to remove it without wiping the hard drive and reinstalling the Operating System which will raise the expense of the service.
